Rakuten Rakuma: Earn a Combined 1,000 Points for Your First Purchase and First Listing

Good morning. It’s まさきん.

Our kids’ clothes and books have piled up in cardboard boxes again. I’ve been meaning to list them on Rakuma.

Right around that time, I came across a promotion that gives you 1,000 points for your first purchase and listing.

I think this is especially worth a look if you haven’t used Rakuma yet, or haven’t opened the app in a while. Let’s go through the conditions.

What type of campaign is this

The campaign types I mapped out before were mostly built around signing up for Rakuten Mobile. This time, it feels like the same type is being applied on the side of an individual service — Rakuma.

It’s close to the time-limited point-rebate type designed to nudge first-time users into action. The condition isn’t a contract — it’s the actions of purchasing and listing themselves.

The breakdown: 500 points for purchasing, 500 points for listing

The rebate is split across two actions. You get 500 points for your first purchase, and 500 points for your first listing. Meet both, and it adds up to a combined 1,000 points.

For the purchase side, the condition is spending a combined total of 1,500 yen or more during the campaign period. It looks like this is judged based on the amount after coupons are applied. Paying with Rakuten Points also counted toward this.

For the listing side, simply listing one or more items meets the condition. Compared to the purchase side, the bar looks lower.

Entry is required in advance. You need to complete it beforehand using the button on the campaign page.

Separately from Rakuma, you can also sign up for Rakuten Mobile through my referral. If you switch, you’ll get up to 14,000 points, so if you’re curious, be sure to check it out.

What I found a little confusing

One thing to watch out for: purchasing and listing are separate conditions. If you only meet one of them, you’ll stop at 500 points.

For the purchase side, the transaction status needs to be “awaiting shipment” or a later stage. Right after payment, you may not have met the condition yet.

In an earlier post, I covered a Rakuma promotion for Rakuten Mobile subscribers. That one required completing shipping after listing. This time, simply listing seems to be enough. They look similar, but the conditions turned out to be different.

What’s worth checking before you apply

The application period runs from August 2 to the morning of September 2, 2026. If you forget to enter, your purchase or listing won’t count even if you go ahead with them, so this is worth being careful about.

The points are scheduled to arrive around September 30. Just like contract-based campaigns, it looks like the rebate is designed to take a little while to land.

The points you receive are time-limited points, with an expiration date of March 25, 2027. Once they land, it’s worth making sure you don’t forget to use them.

I’ve also gone over general campaign checkpoints in my roundup of Rakuten Mobile’s money-saving campaigns. Whether entry is required and what the eligible period is are always the first things I check.

Wrapping up

This campaign was a set of purchase and listing conditions. 500 points for your first purchase, 500 points for your first listing. Meet both, and it adds up to a combined 1,000 points.

Rakuma feels like a good fit for a household with kids, like ours. I think it’s about time I clear out the clothes and books that have piled up in those boxes.

The conditions and campaign period may change going forward. Before applying, please make sure to check the official site for the latest information.

Alongside decluttering on Rakuma, I’m also planning to review our Rakuten Mobile setup. Switching through my referral gets you up to 14,000 points, so if you’re interested, be sure to take a look.
